Pond-side nest
Available during summer and spring, Villa Irene provides an optional outdoor sleeping nest by the pond-side area. The nest provides privacy for especially a relaxing nap in the afternoon or even in the evenings. It comes as a canopy with a comfortable air-based bed mattress, warm quilts and pillows. The nest provides an opportunity to enjoy nature in a whole new way.
Smoke Sauna
Relax, sweat and keep warm in our outdoor smoke sauna or indoor wood sauna. The savusauna (smoke sauna) is a special type of sauna without a chimney. Wood is burned on a particularly large stove and the smoke fills the room. When the sauna is hot enough, the fire is allowed to die and the smoke is ventilated out. The residual heat of the stove is enough for the duration of the sauna. Bathing in a real smoke sauna is a unique experience. According to Finnish traditions it takes a good while and a lot of devotion to heat up a smoke sauna. This results in a mellow and relaxing steam, quite unlike than anything you have experienced before. It is said that a smoke sauna is not for those in a hurry, as you should enjoy bathing for a good while. It is also a belief that smoke sauna is a place where you can wash your soul from sins. The real sauna can only be experienced in Finland, its country of origin. Our smoke sauna accommodates comfortably about 10 people ata time. Guest can be provided with linen towels and birch whisk to bring back memories of the past and create a unique Finnish sauna experience. The smoke sauna comes with a dressing room and spacious outdoor terrace providing a perfect Place for you to cool off and enjoy refreshments or just have a moment for your body to relax.
Wood-fired hot tub
Great for any occasion in even the worst of Finnish weather there is something very satisfying about being in a warm wood fired hot hub outside while the rain and snow is lashing on you and you stargaze. Outdoor hot tub is a fantastic thing to stare up at the trees, and see the stars and the snowflakes drifting down and melting as they approach the water.
Massage
We are pleased to provide on-site or nearby massage services including hot stone massage, classic massage, aromatherapy, Indian head massage, honey massage, as well as foot and hand treatment for our guests. Camp fire and wood-fired grill house
At Villa Irene, you can relax, keep warm and grill in our open fire grill house with a fireside chat among friends and family. Time spent around an open fire is an unforgettable experience enjoyed throughout the ages. It is an intriguing and mysterious pastime of deep simplicity to warm your body, mind and spirit. Listening to stories, singing to campfire guitar, or sharing quietude prepares you for evening retirement. The grill cottage and camp fire remains a special evening experience for relaxation and meditation. Enjoyed on your own, or with loved ones, there really is nothing like sitting around a fire watching the flames dance and flicker in the night.
